PRATHMIK SHALAMA NATIONAL GIRLS CHILD DAY UJAVANI BABAT NO CIRCULAR

Nation on 24 January 2016 observed the 9thNational Girl Child Day. It is celebrated to spread awareness about the inequalities faced by the girl child in the country. It is observed on 24 January every year.
It was initiated by the government in 2008. Union Ministry of Women and Child Development has been taking different initiatives to address and reverse the trend of declining sex ratio in the country.
The Ministry has come up with some steps to contribute to the upliftment of the girl Child.
• Celebrate the birth of a girl Child.
• Take the Pride in daughters and oppose the mindset related to Paraya Dhan.
• Find ways to promote equality between boys and girls.
• Secure admissions to and retention of girl Child in schools.
• Engage men and boys to challenge gender stereotypes and roles.
• Report any incident of sex discrimination test.
• Strive to make neighbourhood safe and violence free for women and girls.
• Oppose dowry and child marriages.
• Advocate simple Marriages.

International Day of the Girl Child increases awareness of many issues and inequalities faced by girls around the world. Many global development plans do not include or consider girls, and their issues and problems become "invisible."More than 62 million girls around the world have no access to education.[Worldwide and collectively, girls ages 5 to 14 spend more than 160 million hours more onhousehold chores than boys of the same age do. Globally, one in four girls are married before age 18.] On October 11, 2016, Emma Watson, who is also the United Nations Women's Goodwill Ambassador, urged countries nd families worldwide to end child marriage. Many girls around the world are vulnerable to acts of sexual violence and theperpetrators often go unpunished.[
The Day of the Girl helps raise awareness not only of the issues that girls face, but also what is likely to happen when those problems are solved. For example, educating girls helps reduce the rate of child marriage, disease and helps strengthen the economy by helping girls have access to higher paying jobs.
