Fixation of pay in the revised pay structure: The pay in the applicable Level in the Pay Matrix shall be the pay obtained by multiplying the existing basic pay by a factor of 2.57, rounded off to the nearest rupee and the figure so arrived at will be located in that Level in the Pay Matrix and if such an identical figure corresponds to any Cell in the applicable Level of the Pay Matrix, the same shall be the pay, and if no such Cell is available in the applicable Level, the pay shall be fixed at the immediate next higher Cell in that applicable Level of the Pay Matrix.
The minister said that financial implication for 2017-18 is estimated to be Rs 3,238.28 Crore, of which Rs 2,942.07 Crore is for the revision of salary and pension, including Rs 60 Crore for the additional quantum of pension recommended for pensioners above 80 years of age.
State government has constituted a committee to study the various aspects of the 7th pay commission. State cabinet will examine the same on February.
The pay commission has recommended 2.62 times hike in minimum pay prescribed by the 2008 Assam Pay Commission. The commission has recommended that minimum pay will be Rs 15,900.
